It was another exciting weekend of European football action with important victories for clubs chasing the league titles.

Arsenal came back from 0-2 down against Bournemouth to clinch a sensational last-minute 3-2 victory. Liverpool secured a stunning 7-0 win over arch-rivals Manchester United at Anfield to keep their top-four hopes alive. Manchester City also won their match against Newcastle United.

In LaLiga, Barcelona won another match with a 1-0 scoreline, this time against Valencia. They opened up a nine-point lead at the top after Real Madrid dropped points yet again - Carlo Ancelotti's side played out a goalless draw against Real Betis. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid scored six past Sevilla.

In Germany, Borussia Dortmund maintained their winning run while Bayern Munich also secured a victory. In Italy, Napoli slipped to only their second loss in the Serie A this season as they were undone by Lazio. Roma scored an important win over Juventus.

In Ligue 1, PSG rounded off a 4-2 win over Nantes, with both Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe scoring.

Liverpool recorded their biggest-ever win over arch-rivals Manchester United. The previous best was 7-1 way back in 1895 in the second division of the English league.

The 7-0 loss also ties with Manchester United's heaviest defeat in club history with the previous one coming over 90 years ago -- 7-0 vs. Wolves in December 1931; also 7-0 vs. Aston Villa in December 1930 and 7-0 vs, Blackburn in April 1926.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea conceded 7+ goals in a single game for the first time in his career. He has played 578 games in his career. Manchester United allowed seven goals in a game for the first time in their Premier League history.

Mohamed Salah has overtaken Robbie Fowler as Liverpool's all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, scoring 129 times in 205 appearances.


Since the 2017-18 season, Salah has received more yellow cards for taking his shirt off (2) at Anfield than the number of goals Manchester United have scored at the venue, which is just one.


For the first time since 1908, three Liverpool players scored a brace in a single game against Manchester United. Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.


Salah is the first Liverpool player to score in six consecutive appearances in all competitions against Manchester United.


Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has assisted more goals than any other defender for a Premier League side this season.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has become the third fastest goalkeeper in Premier League history to reach 100 clean sheets -- in 208 matches after Petr Cech (180 apps) and Pepe Reina (198 apps).


Bernardo Silva's goal against Newcastle United was Manchester City's 1,000th Premier League home goal. They become the sixth side to reach the milestone in the competition. They scored 160 goals at Maine Road and 840 at the Etihad.

All seven Premier League games on Saturday were won by the home team, only the second day in the competition's history to have 7+ matches with 100% won by the home side, since 28th October 2000.



Barcelona have won eight games by 1-0 scoreline this season, their most in a full season in LaLiga.


Barcelona have conceded just eight goals in 24 matches. It is the fewest goals conceded by a team after 24 matches. They are also the second team since 2000 from Europe's top 5 leagues to allow eight goals or fewer through 24 matches. The first was Bayern Munich in the 2012-13 season.


Barcelona have the best league record this season after scoring first. They won 18 matches and the lone draw came against Espanyol.

Atletico Madrid scored five-plus goals in a single LaLiga game for the first time since April 2021.


Antoine Griezmann scored his 150th goal for Atletico in all competitions when he netted the second goal against Sevilla. He's second in Atletico's all-time list behind Luis Aragones (172) and Adrian Escudero (169).



Napoli's loss against Lazio is their first at home since April 10, 2022 vs. Fiorentina. Their 18-game unbeaten run at home was their longest at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona since January-September 2021 (also 18).

Lazio have equalled their record for clean sheets away from home in a single Serie A campaign -- 8. It previously happened in the 1994/95 and 1999/2000 seasons.


AS Roma have remained unbeaten in both of their Serie A games of the season against Juventus for the first time since 2003-04.



Thomas Mueller recorded his 300th goal involvement in the Bundesliga against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. He's now second on the list after Robert Lewandowski who has 367 goal involvements (data collection started in 2004/05).


Bayern Munich scored their 100th away goal at VfB Stuttgart. They became the first club in Bundesliga history to reach that mark.


By defeating RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund won their eighth match in a row, matching their previous best streak in the 2011/12 season.

Borussia Dortmund have won their first 10 games in 2023 and sit top of the Bundesliga.
